Cornell Institute of Social ScienceCornell University Talk: I was invited to speak on “Information poverty = Rural poverty?” for the workshop Reconfiguring village studies that was sponsored by the Cornell Institute for Social Science at Cornell University. ‘Village studies’ as a field surprisingly still exists, hinting of its postcolonial history. It is about time to reform this field and take heed of new developments that challenge the rural and urban divide or rather the ‘village’ vs ‘city’ notion.
